Ayushmann Khurrana was born on 14 September 1984 in Chandigarh, India. He is an actor, singer & songwriter by profession. His famous albums contain “Mitti Di Khusbu” and other superhit songs.

Ayushmann was brought up in a Hindu family. He was born to P. Khurrana and Poonam Khurrana. He has a younger brother name Aparshakti Khurana, who is an actor and host by profession. He belongs to the Brahmin caste.

His father P Khurrana is an astrologer and an author on the subject of astrology, whereas his mother Poonam is a housewife and a qualified M.A. in Hindi. His family stays in Chandigarh while he & his brother working at Mumbai.

After his college, he was seriously in theatre for five years in Chandigarh.

Career

After completing his graduation in Journalism, he started his job as a radio jockey at BIG FM, Delhi. In that, he hosted the big show Chai – Maan Na Maan, Main Tera Ayushmann. For his hosting skills, he has won the Young Achievers Award in 2007.

After his career as Radio Jockey, he shifted and became a Video Jockey on MTV with Pepsi MTV Wassup, The Voice of Youngistaan, and more.

Apart from hosting the second season of MTV Rock On and India’s Got Talent on Colors, Khurrana was also a part of the anchoring team of Extra Innings T20 for Indian Premier League Season 3 on SET Max with Gaurav Kapur, Samir Kochhar, and Angad Bedi.

In 2012, he made his Bollywood debut with Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor opposite Yami Gautam. For this film, he also sang the song “Pani Da Rang” composed by him and Rochak Kohli.

Ayushmann went on to receive many accolades for his performance, including the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut and the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer. He won all the debut awards for Vicky Donor.

He followed by anchoring the IIFA Awards (2012), People’s Choice Awards India (2012) and the Screen Awards (2013). Ayushmann was next seen in Nautanki Saala co-starring Pooja Salvi, Kunal Roy Kapoor, and Evelyn Sharma.

Ayushmann Khurrana next featured in Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015), which opened to strong reviews, whereas critics appreciated the acting of Ayushmann, the film was a major box office success and also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.

In 2017, Ayushmann featured in movies like Meri Pyaari Bindu (commercial failure) opposite Parineeti Chopra, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Shubh Mangal Savdhan both of which received critical and popular acclaim and were commercially successful.

In 2018, his two films are released in October. Andhadhun released on 5th October and Badhaai Ho released on 18th October 2018.
