Sruthi Hariharan was born on 2nd February 1989 (age 29 years) to Hariharan and Jayalakshmi in Palakkad, Kerala, India. We don’t know about her siblings.

School & Career

Sruthi Hariharan was born in Thiruvananthapuram and was raised in Bangalore, Karnataka. She did her schooling from Sishu Griha Montessori and High School. She graduated with a BBM degree from Christ University. 
She was a part of the cultural team at Christ College and later went on to do theatre. She worked in the Kannada film industry as assistant choreographer and background dancer. She was a background dancer in the industry for three years and featured in a number of songs.
She is trained in Bharatanatyam and contemporary dance and apart from her mother tongue Tamil, she is fluent in Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi and can understand Telugu.
Shruti’s film career started off with, Cinema Company, a Malayalam film. She landed the lead role in the Kannada film Lucia by Pawan Kumar. She played two characters in the film one of a lower middle-class girl and the other of a film actress. 
In 2014, she appeared in Savaari 2 movie. Her next release was her first Tamil film Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe.

She has also signed another Kannada film, Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu, do very well both in terms of box office and critics.
In 2018, she appered in Humble Politician Nograj, Bhootayyana Mommaga Ayyu, Raambo 2 and Ambi Ning Vayassaytho movies.
Sruthi’s upcoming movies are Daari Thappisuva Devaru and Nathicharami.

Controversies:

In a Facebook post, actor Sruthi Hariharan accused popular south India actor Arjun Sarja of sexually assaulting her during the shoot of the bilingual film ‘Vismaya‘.

“The first few days seemed normal, I played his wife in the film and that day we were to do a romantic scene where we had to hug each other after a brief dialogue. During the rehearsal, we delivered our lines and Mr. Arjun hugs me. With no forewarning or permission, he runs his hands intimately up and down my back. He pulls me closer with my body taut against his and asks the director if we could use this idea of foreplay in the scene. I was aghast,” she wrote describing the incident.
