Career
Directing
Luv Ranjan began his career as a director in 2011 with the film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama produced by Abhishek Pathak. The film is a romantic comedy which depicts the life of three young bachelors.
In 2013, he wrote and directed Akaash Vani, reuniting him with Aaryan and Bharucha.
In 2015, he co-wrote and directed the sequel of Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 starring Aaryan, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Sunny Singh, and Sonnalli Seygall.
The sequel too received much appreciation and performed well at the box office.
In 2018, Luv Ranjan directed the film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in 2018. The film performed exceedingly well at the box office.
In 2019, Luv Ranjan directed “De De Pyaar De” starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu.
In 2020, Ranjan directed Jai Mummy Di, Malang and Chhalaang.
Producing
Luv Ran started his production house “Luv Films” in 2012 with his childhood friend and co-producer, Ankur Garg.
In 2016, he produced Life Sahi Hai, an Indian coming of age comedy web-series created by Tarun Jain.
He directed and co-produced comedy film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in collaboration with T-Series starring Kartik Aaryan, Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh.
It emerged as a commercial success and ranks as one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of 2018. For that reason Bhushan Kumar gifted a Mercedes-Benz to Luv Ranjan.
He produced “De De Pyaar De” in 2019 starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh.
Controversy
In her #MeToo account, the unnamed actress has accused Luv Ranjan of misconduct during a script reading session of Pyaar Ka Punchnama.
Later, he issued a statement on social media, strongly dismissing the allegations against him and said that he has “never misbehaved with any woman, but apologizes if he has hurt anyone.”
