Kulmeet Makkar was born on 22 March 1960 and died on May 1st, 2020 after celebrating his 60th birthday. He was the CEO of the Film & Television Producers Guild Of India.
Kulmeet Makkar has worked with Saregama and Reliance Entertainment as founder CEO of Big Music & Home Entertainment. In 2010, he took the position of CEO of the Film & Television Producers Guild. Prior to his death, he was working on setting a trust to help the daily wage workers of the film industry who have been most affected by the lockdown. Netflix had also pledged to contribute $1 million to the trust.
Kulmeet passed on May 1st, 2020 from a heart attack. He was in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. He was there since the nationwide lockdown was imposed due to coronavirus outspread. In a statement, PGI remembered Makkar for his immense contribution to the growth of the Indian film and television industry.
He was survived by his wife, son & daughter. We don’t know many more details about his family.
