Nawazuddin Siddiqui was born on 19th May 1974 (age 44years) in a small town Budhana, in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was born to Late Nawabuddin Siddiqui (farmer) and Mehroonisa (mother). He was brought up with nine siblings, seven brothers and two sisters.

School life & Career

Nawazuddin completed her early education from B S S Inter College Budhana, Muzaffarnagar, UP. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar.

Nawazuddin went to the National School of Drama, in New Delhi. After graduating from NSD in 1996, he moved to Mumbai.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui made his Bollywood debut in 1999, with a small role in the Aamir Khan starrer Sarfarosh. He then appeared in Ram Gopal Varma's Shool (1999), Jungle (2000) and Rajkumar Hirani's Munnabhai MBBS (2003).

He did a short film, The Bypass in 2003, where he appeared with Irrfan Khan. From 2002 to 2005, he was largely out of work, and lived in a flat he shared with four other people.

His other notable movies are Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 1 and Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2. He then appeared in Kahaani (2012), where he played the role of Officer Khan.
He appeared in Aamir Khan's 2012 release Talash. In 2014, he played lead antagonist Shiv Gajra, in the blockbuster movie Kick and earned huge fame.

In 2015, Siddiqui's films Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Manjhi - The Mountain Man were released, and he was praised for his roles. For his performance in Haramkhor (Gujarati movie), he was awarded "Best Actor" at the New York Indian Film Festival. 

Nawazuddin received the Special Jury Award at the 2012 National Film Awards.[29][30] and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2013. Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be portraying Balasaheb Thackeray in the biopic Thackeray.

He also appeared on Netflix's web series "Sacred Games" and praise for his acting skills.

  • In October 2017, his former girlfriends Sunita Rajwar and actress Niharika Singh (who co-starred with him in Miss Lovely) accused him of misrepresenting facts in his biography- An Ordinary Life: A Memoir.

  • He has a degree in Chemistry, and during his days of struggle, he worked at a Chemist shop in Vadodara.
  • While in Mumbai, Nawaz had to face one of the worst years of his struggle. He had to stay in the apartment of one of his seniors at the NSD on the condition to cook the meal for him.
